Free email address with mobile verification
I use to use Protonmail but they have introduced a mobile verification. Does anyone know where I can get a free email address without mobile verification?

RE: Free email address with mobile verification
Gmail and hotmail (outlook.com) both work for me, still, usually, as long as I'm not on a VPN. I occasionally go to the library or a coffee shop or something, turn off my VPN, and sign up for a bunch of burner accounts to save for later.

Would be interested in other suggestions, too, though.

Can't the coffee shop still track you by your device MAC address? Are there still any sites around without mobile auth?

Yeah, the coffee shop could log that.

Neither of them asked me for a mobile number, yahoo mail does. The bigger problem is that other sites (Twitter, for example) that you might sign up for with one of these burner emails will want a phone number.

Some of them will call you with an automated message rather than texting. If you can get to not-quite-public phone, such as at the library or in a university building or something, that's a way around it. It's tough, though.

https://www.gmx.com asks for SMS or email.

I have been using mail.com and I am satisfied with their services. Adding a mobile number is optional.

Guerilla Mail, Proton Mail (has a captcha, doesn't require a phone number), Tutanota, etc.

You can change your MAC address with a MAC address changer.

There's mailinator, too, for receive-only email addresses. They have a few alt domains, too, in case someone blocks @mailinator.com. Just put in [email protected] (or one of the alts) and then go to mailinator.com to check.

mail.com or Yandex mail don't ask for phone numbers. I usually just use one of those throwaway "10 minute/temporary" email services for websites I don't care about though

I'm using a VPN to Russia for the following below:

Mail.com keeps coming up with an error when I try to setup an account.

Yandex emails seem to stay in the draft folder when I try to send emails (sometimes I get an error when using TOR). I didn't test receiving emails.

I think I'll set up a shitload of email accounts (hotmail/gmail) when I travel around Asia this year. No ID required for a prepaid sim in most 3rd world countries. I would have to use a VPN back to my country tho cause I know when I change country, it will ask for my prepaid number again. I already bought a cheap smartphone years ago from a market which can't be traced back to me. Philippines prepaid numbers are valved for 1 year.

I believe there is a chance in the future that everything we do today online can be traced back to you if we don't hide our ID today! Everything you say will be classed as hate speech as we are already seeing!
