RE: NFL thread
The Chicago Bears are going to take it this year. New head coach Marc Trestman and company are going to improve on what Lovie Smith left off which was a 10-6 Bears team with an amazing defense. All we need to do is keep Jay Cutler upright and have improved the O-line by aquiring Brushord from the Saints and drafting Howie Long's son Kyle Long in the first round. Theyve also added Bennet from the Giants as a huge upgrade in tight end. The Bears are one slot receiver away from being a stacked team and a complete team.

I want to give a shotout to the newest Bears. First round pick Kyle Long and 2nd Round pick Jonathan Bostic and former Free agents Brushord and Bennet

Current value of NFL teams: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/956655...e-nfl-team

I am surprised that the Texans were so valuable - I would have thought the Bears, 49'ers, Steelers and Packers would have been ahead of them.

Well in the 49ers and Packers cases those stadiums they play in hold them back a bit. Older venues with not as many luxury boxes which are a source of revenue. Soilder field is also the smallest stadium in the league.

I'm excited about this season - am going to see my Saints play week 1 in NOLA, at Chicago, at New England, at Atlanta*, at St Louis*, and any 2nd round or later playoff games.

* - assuming game is meaningful

RE: NFL thread
NFL is back tomorrow, fellas.

I'm fucking stoked.

I'll go ahead and make some predictions for the hell of it.

NFC

Seahawks, Falcons, Cowboys and Bears win their divisions.

Green Bay and 49'ers are wildcards.

Bears and Falcons in the conference game.

AFC

Broncos, Patriots, Texans and Bengals are division winners.

Pittsburgh and Kansas City are the wild cards.

Broncos and Bengals in the championship game.

Another year where mediocrity is only a pipe dream for my Raiders. They have actually regressed from their first rebuilding year. I just keep repeating to myself that something good has to come from the $80 million in cap space next year.

I love the fall.

College ball and pro ball means football at least 4-5 days a week.

Week 1 is in the books.

Colts look like regression candidates, Luck's playmaking keeps bailing them out.

Niners did what they wanted basically on offense, Packers were keyed in on the run and R/O but Kaep just stood in the pocket all day and air mailed it to Boldin. How much of Flacco's new contract should go to him?

MNF, what an exciting game! Chip Kelley might have had a cushier position back in Eugene but I love the way his Philadelphia Ducks look. Definitely the most entertaining half I've seen in a while and I have no special rooting interest in either team. RGIII looks pretty slow and ordinary for most of the game.

Btw - thank you Chargers for that Turner-esque chokejob, we needed to bring SD fans back down to where they usually belong. mrgreen

RE: NFL thread
Indianapolis and Minnesota overachieved last season - they are both going to have significant regressions.

Washington will also regress.

Carolina and St Louis could be deep sleepers...both teams have nasty front sevens and Carolina obviously has Cam.

I am still sticking with Chicago winning the division. Defense looks as good as always and, hopefully, the offense continues to develop.
